Thomas Truedson MS, LAT, CSCS, CST, PES, CES


As a nationally certified and state Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT), Truedson is able to evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate athletes.  He has over 18 years of experience working in professional sports, the collegiate setting, the high school setting, and the clinical setting.  He has additional experience in emergency care, manual therapy, and human performance.  Truedson holds a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential, allowing him to scrub into surgeries.  He is also a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).  This unique combination of experience and education gives Truedson the ability to care for athletes from the time of their injury to their full return to competition.  Truedson has worked for big athletic departments, and big healthcare companies.  These experiences have helped prepare him to open his own private practice in Detroit Lakes, MN.

  • 5+ years working in surgery

  • Master’s degree in Exercise Science (Minnesota State University, Mankato)

  • Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology (Minnesota State Community and Technical College)

In terms of manual therapy, TSP offers a number of options to manage pain, treat myofascial restrictions, mobilize soft tissue, increase range of motion, correct imbalances, and restore movement patterns.

Truedson is recognized as the only Graston Technique Specialist (GTS) within a 50 mile radius of Detroit Lakes, MN.  He has also completed advanced training in Dry Needling through the industry's leading educator: Structure & Function.


In terms of rehab, Truedson is the premier rehab specialist for overhead and throwing athletes in northern Minnesota.  He has worked with hundreds of professional athletes, elite coaching staff, and highly sought after surgeons.  

Graston Technique Therapy

Special Interests Include:

  • Post operative rehabilitation, introduction of sport specific tasks, and return-to-play progressions
  • Overhead athletes with shoulder or elbow pathology
  • Throwing progression and Return-to-Pitching programs
  • ACL Injury Prevention programs for female athletes
  • Rotational power sports (baseball, softball, golf, tennis, track & field throwers, etc.)
